I Definitely Don’t Think This is Going to be Easy

I don’t have the best track record with long term goals.
Only nine months ago, I ran a half-marathon with my roommate (I mean, I know you can grow a baby in that time, but please. It wasn’t that long ago). Neither of us were runners. Neither of us had ever run more than a couple of miles. Neither of us had the time to train.
But (somehow) we did it. We stumbled over the finish line (my roommate claims she blacked out the last mile), but we ran the whole 13.1 miles through downtown Philadelphia without stopping even once. We have my dad’s iPhone movie as proof.
Of course, the next week was Thanksgiving and we launched right into holiday season… and I haven’t run more than a couple miles a month since. I also put back on a pretty decent amount of weight, since you apparently can’t eat like a marathoner when you’re not a marathoner… and I love grilled cheese sandwiches. Too much.
I guess what I’m trying to say is that I’ve sort of done this before (committed to running) but haven’t been able to really stick it out more than a couple of months. So, I guess another part of the $35 dollar project is long-term commitment. Not my favorite. Blargh.
(Also you have to wake up super early! It’s still dark out, always! No!!)
